EAMDA in partnership with @rti_intl , FIPs and @olivado_oils under the @usaid funded activity, KCDMS, is implementing an initiative in Bungoma county to steer avocado productivity and marketing.

Bungoma county has been identified as a strategic starting point for Western Kenya’s avocado support initiative as it already has an avocado strategy and had demonstrated a strong political will.

Following an introductory meeting with the county yesterday, KCDMS has brought together sub-county agricultural staff, KEPHIS, HCD, MESPT that has ongoing initiatives in Bungoma, the Bungoma Avocado Association and traders to agree on immediate action steps in implementing the Bungoma promotion strategy as well as the planned KCDMS activities over the next 2 months.
